500 mL (16-oz) can black beans, drained and rinsed
80 mL (1/3 cup) prepared tomato salsa, hot or mild
30 mL (2 tbsp) chopped fresh cilantro
15 mL (1 tbsp) fresh lime juice
5 mL (1 tsp) Windsor Nature's Seasons® Seasoning Blend
1 mL (1/4 tsp) ground cumin
Preparation
Mash the black beans with a fork until
smooth purée forms. Combine with remaining ingredients
until smooth. Use as a dip with tortilla chips. Or use for Southwestern
Pizza (see below).
Southwestern Pizza
To prepare Southwestern Pizza, spread Seasoned
Black Bean Dip over large flour or corn tortilla. Top with shredded
Monterey Jack cheese. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes
or until cheese is melted and pizza is hot.
